I’ve just returned to Australia after living and working in Indonesia for the last eight years where I established a photographic and news bureau for a large international syndication agency.

As well as being a highly experienced photo-journalist I’m a chef and a DJ.

I had my own restaurant and nightclub in Indonesia and as well a hitting the decks at my club I played at a number of other clubs in the area and I also play on special tours.

In case you’re interested I play tribal, house, progressive house, hard house, hard dance Trance and Goa/Psy Trance.

After being around the world a few times to places that most people have never heard of, or have no desire to ever visit, I don’t believe in wasting my time, playing games or being politically correct.

Many times I have found myself in areas of conflict only to have the articles I filed spiked by editors sitting thousands of miles away and totally ignorant of the situation in the field.

At other times stories and photographs I've filed have been paid for but not published due to what I can only gather were "political" reasons. ie. the facts as they were occurring in the field and as I reported didn't fit in with the stance the publication was taking on the matter - perhaps due to the political leanings of the publications owners.

Two noticeable examples that readily spring to mind are the 1994 Rwanda genocide and the 1999 Independence referendum in East Timor - now Timor Leste

Now that I've got some time on my hands I intend to bring into the public arena the real story behind these and other events. The stories the world press would not publish.

I'll also recount other incidents and events I've seen and experienced and which for various reasons were never published - generally because it was not "politically correct" to publish them or the articles might have offended individuals, Governments, organizations, or even whole races of people.

Space will also be made available on this site for other journalists to publish their best spiked stories.

There's a whole range of things happening in the world that never get published, or are only published in obscure and non-mainstream publications. The atrocities in Darfur in the Sudan are a perfect example.

The murdering, looting and raping had been occurring for some considerable time before a brave and adventurous BBC stringer snuck over the border to bring the world the first mainstream media reports of what was happening.

This web site will bring first hand reports by the people who see the killing, torture, pillaging, corruption, diplomatic and bureaucratic wrangling and destruction first-hand and who often sit back and shake their heads at the sanitized versions that get put to air or printed and the things they can't write about.

In the words of James Dean, Dream as if you will live forever:Live as if you will die tomorrow
