Florence Henderson...
Florence Henderson, known the world over as "Carol Brady" from the television series THE BRADY BUNCH has talents that go way beyond the program itself. Not that I do not love THE BRADY BUNCH and have all the episodes on tape but in 1995 I also discovered that Florence Henderson was very successful broadway star long before The Brady's come along in 1969. However with the take off of the series her singing career was soon out of the limelight. In October 1995 Florence toured Australia for the seventh time and played to audiences on the East coast of Australia. Her singing voice warmed many aditoriums as she performed Country, Broadway, Easy Listenning music. With a beautiful stage presence and sincerity I was sure glad that I went to see her perform three times.
I had also gone out to the airport to greet Florence upon her arrival in Sydney and was flattered when the lady herself (being photographed by media) came to me and gave me a big hug and a kiss when I gave her roses. I remember thinking; "oh I hope everyone's watching this!"..ha ha Well she remembered me at the shows and not a show went by that Florence did not acknowledge me in the audience with my mother....The three weeks that Florence was here will always be special to me. As are the shots that you are about to see.

This just an 8 x 10 that Florence gave to me on the final night I seen her. That was the 27th October '95. She announced from the stage during the show that she had a gift for me and my mother and for us not leave with out seeing her that night. My mother got an alternate shot autographed with a great thank you and nice passage written also. The both of us also received a smaller photograph of THE BRADY BUNCH autographed by her. That is a gift that I will never forget. The passages she wrote on the photo's shows her great appreciation that is not with alot of entertainers these days....
