A mother groundhog birthed these pups under our old shed in the yard. These groundhogs were still very young when this photo was taken. Their mother was off foraging somewhere so I decided to get a little closer for some shots. They look cute but they are not. I got a little too close and one of them attacked me and bit my workboot. Barefoot or sneakers would probably have meant rabies shots for me. No, this is not why I am sometimes seen foaming at the mouth.
