(This is a very old guitar but the first time Kelly has been seen using it)
There are quite a few differences between the two guitars but not to look at! The only visual differences are that the scratch plate on an Epiphone SG standard is smaller than on the Gibson SG standard. However, some Gibson SG's standards have the small plates so it is hard to tell! Apart from that, the most obvious difference is on the headstock; it says Epiphone rather than Gibson.
Apart from the visual differences, it is the build that is different. Gibson's are made from solid mahogany but Epiphone's are made from alder and maghogany. The pick ups are different (Gibson SG's have a few different types, Kelly uses the standard setup and there is also the Angus Young model with special Angus pickups which rocks!), as are the machine heads and inlays. The general finish to the guitar is better on the Gibson and you also get a very nice Gibson case!
One final thing... a Gibson is about �800 more than an Epiphone!
