The Transformation Continues

PAINT

The hand taped flames turned out better than I expected. I spent about eight hours taping the car, starting with 1/8 inch fineline masking tape to draw the inital design then filling in all the areas not to be painted with two inch tape. Once completed I spent about a half an hour randomly spraying red, white, yellow, and orange till I felt it looked like a mess. Removal of the tape resulted in the flames you see. On the trunk lid is my first attempt. They are two pictures of a woman made of flames. As they were decals I made on my computer and sealed in the clearcoat they eventually wrinkled and had to be removed.

The hood after I got it back from my neighbor the artist. This guy is a true pro and really knows his stuff. All airbrushing is done freehand after a few beers. The car assembled for the first time after being clearcoated with 2 coats.

Rear and side views after the initial clearcoat. Rear wheels now installed. Appliance Wheels Wire Mags 11 1/2 inches of rubber on the ground.
