Nov. 29, 2003     MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD

I finally got to see Master and Commander and I must say it was both a let down and impressive. I walked into that theater expected a big hollywood spectical, the usual tons of action sequences with either a poor or somewhat good story line. I was completely wrong. Master and Commander turned out to be a story with a lot of intricate scenes, which allowed a good amount of character growth. I thought the movie was incredibly well done and Peter Weir did an amazing job. This is truly an action movie for grown-ups rather than Die Hard, a shoot em up movie enjoyed by all ages wanting destruction and mayhem. The only drawback to this movie was that their could have been a little more action sequences, curing the slow parts of the movies.

Dec. 2, 2003     PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL  DVD

I was a big fan of the movie while it was in theaters. It not only has constant action but an incredibly well written story line that keeps evolving as the movie goes on. Enough talk about the movie, i'm here to talk about the DVD. This DVD release is a little rare sine the only release they came out with was widescreen 2-disc special edition. Yet, this DVD is amazing. The first disc is the movie in widescreen with some special features. The second disc is awesome. It has deleted scenes, bloopers, alot of history about pirates, bio's of some of the famous pirates, and this is all displayed while taking a virtual tour of a pirate ship. I must confess of all my DVDs, this one has become my favorite. 5 words: AWESOME MOVIE, TONS OF EXTRAS!

Dec. 19, 2003     HAUNTED MANSION

Complete crap! Thats all I really have to say. WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING DISNEY! You got very lucky off Pirates Of The Caribbean, DON'T PUSH YOUR LUCK! This movie had a very 1 dimensional story line and you could easily predict the ending from the first 20 minutes of the movie. I am a huge fan of the Haunted Mansion ride but this movie could not capture it's charm at all. The story line really had nothing to do with the ride, they would have been much smarter to go with the freaking story line from the ride. This movie really pissed me off. I got in for free and even then I felt like I got ripped off. Eddie Murphy is usually pretty funny but he doesn't fit this movie for shit. Some cute jokes from the ride but that's all. And the singing heads just seemed like a filler to stall for the crap yet to come in this bullshit movie.

Dec. 20, 2003     THE LAST SAMURAI

Best movie of the year in my opinion. Amazing acting, amazing fight scenes, amazing story line, amazinly KICK ASS! Tom Cruise did a pretty good part but was overshadowed hugely by Ken Watanabe, who played the samurai. If he doesn't get best actor this year I am gonna personally go to the Academy and stick my samurai sword up their ass. Then I'd probably shout some ill fated words and steal a few oscars to sell on ebay. Anyway, this movie was great, with an amazing ariel view of the battle at the end with at least a few hundred soldiers all fighting. THAT IS A HARD SHOT! Getting all those people choreographed for that one shot is hard as hell, which is why a shot like this is rarely done. Since these are mini movie critics this one is bout done. Last thing I have to say is if you don't see this movie you are missing out and are probably gay. DO YOU WANNA BE GAY? Unless you want to be the 6th member of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy I suggest you see this movie.

Dec. 23, 2003     LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE K ING

This was a good movie, but I still think the whole series is way too highly overrated. Better than the original Star Wars trilogy? MY ASS! Vader could take Sauron any day of the week. Anyway I still enjoyed this movie and thought it very well done. For the 3 hours and 30 minutes of film it only seemed like 2 hours tops. A lot of people thought the conclusion was a tad bit long but I thought it necessary. For 3 movie each lasting an average of 3 hours their was a shit load to wrap up. I didn't like that they just completely ignored what happens to Saruman but hell oh well. Like usual the scenery was breath taking and the CGI blew my pants off, luckly there was a hot girl in front of me. Overall this movie is great for the die hard LOTR fans or for the regular Joe Schmo. The one thing that will make anyone love this movie is that their isn't just one war scene in this movie, like Two Towers, but a breathtaking 3! Since it is pretty damn early in the morning now I am concluding this with one word. SEXY

Dec. 26, 2003     PETER PAN (2003)

A fun movie. This version of Peter Pan was more true to the original than Disney's Peter Pan or Hook. But overall I think Hook is a much better movie. This movie had lots of nice special effects and the story line was true to the original but it lacked a sense of style. A lot of the scenery was very cgi feeling and didn't seem even real to neverland. The acting was good but not amazing. Overall this movie is good for those die hard peter pan fans, like myself, but not for everyone. Even me being a fan of peter pan, this movie overall was a big let down. Peter Pan couldn't fly into good ratings for this box office bust.
