Fun Facts
By the World's Greatest Drawer with help from Barbra
Epsio's name comes from the word "Epsionage, meaning "the act of spying or using spies".
Cheese is stated as being female, and is sometimes referred to as male. For some reason (maybe it's the bowtie) people always assume Cheese is male. I'll admit I did. Technically, Cheese has no gender, as all Chao are genderless (which sure makes mating them much easier)
Knuckles was orginally planned to have a Jamacian accent. There is also an unconfirmed rumor that he was going to be female, but this seems quite unlikely.
Shadow's original name was going to be Terios. It translates into "reflection" or "to shine brightly".
Metal Sonic used to be called the "red eyed Badnik"
There was a fourth dectective in Chaotix called Mighty the Armadillo. He hasn't been seen since 1994.
Amy actually came out before Knuckles, yet she is not one of the classic "Triple Threat" (Sonic, Tails and Knuckles).
Tikal is the name of a ruin in Guatemala.
Dr Eggman has more aliases than most people realize. His others include Julian of the House of Ivo and Dr. Robotnik. His full name is Ivo Robotnik.Ivo is "ovi" the Latin word for "egg" backwards.
Fang's other name is Nack the Weasel(good thing it's Fang in the games...)
In Sonic CD,Amy was called Princess Sally Acorn. However, she is not(and never was)Sally Acorn, who is a completely different character.
Sonic was planned to have a human love interest other than Elise at one point. You can view a picture of her in Sonic Gems if you watch the credits 5 or 10 times.
Silver was originally planned to be a mink named Venice.

Observations
There really is an "Angel Island". Coincidentally, it happens to be in the vicinity of San Fransisco (where Sega of America is located).
There actually is a real place called "Central City". It's located in Colorado. I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised; after all, there is a real town named "Happy Valley" in Quebec.
In both Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic X there is an episode called "The Last Resort".
It is quite likely Bukkon was based off Coconuts (from Adventures of SOnic the Hedgehog). They both have similar personalities, attire, and a share a liking for explosives (Bukkon's in the form of TV's, Coconuts in the form of bombs).
Jet is a hawk,yet he can't fly.Kinda pathetic...
Charmy looks remarkably like Buzz, you know the bee on the Honey Nut Cheerios commercials.
All the Babylon Rogue's names have something to do with water.Jet,as in a jetstream that comes out of the back of a motor?I don't even need to mention Wave. And Storm too, because storms generally involve water.
Vector looks a lot like Gex,they have nearly the same markings and colors,Gex's shoes are similar to Vector's,and their eyes are similar.
The president in Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog looks kind of like John F. Kennedy.
Soleanna looks a ton like Isle Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine.
Cosmo looks very much like the Pokemon Kirlia.
Some character bios say Cream is too young for adventure, yet Charmy is the same age as her and he has a job.
Jet is supposedly based off an old Sonic character named Bean the Dynamite, who was a green duck.Jet also looks and acts a little like Manic from Sonic Underground.
In the beginning cutscene in Shadow the Hedgehog, the sky formed spiral-like clouds;as a very fitting tribute to War of the Worlds.
Black Bull bears a strong resemblance to Chaos 6.
Iblis' 2nd form bears a resemblance to Perfect Chaos.

Unexplainables

In Sonic Adventure 2,Shadow lost both of his rings at the end.Sonic gave one to Rouge, yet in Sonic Heroes before Rouge releases Shadow,he has on the two rings.
In Sonic the Hedgehog, Elise says she has had the Chaos Emerald around her neck for 10 years, yet Sonic and friends have always been able to get them all without interacting with her.
Black Doom bears a significant resemblance to Wizeman, the NiGHTS antagonist. Since both games were made by Sega (and Sonic Team as well) it may not be such a coincidence.

Eggman Nega's Mystery Revelead (by the One and Only World's Greatest Drawer) Many people wonder how Eggman Nega is a descendant of Eggman, since it suggests that Eggman marries (is that even possible for a woman to attracted to him?) and would have children. I highly doubt that is the case. Considering Eggman has a brother (this is not a commonly known fact) who is Snively's father, it's likely that Eggman has more siblings, one of whom who could've been Eggman Nega's ancestor.
In Sonic Adventure 2,half of the moon gets blasted off,yet it comes back in all later games.
In Sonic Adventure 2,Professor Gerald says he went insane. How did he know this?

Shadow's Family Tree (by the One and Only World's Greatest Drawer)Despite being artificially created, Shadow has a very large family tree. Professor Gerald,Eggman's grandfather, created Shadow,so he could be considered Shadow's father. If that's the case Eggman would be considered Shadow's nephew. Snively, who is Eggman's nephew, would be Shadow's 2nd nephew. You musn't think I forgot Maria, she'd be Shadow's cousin.Since Shadow was created partially from Black Doom's DNA,he could be considered Black Doom's son, which would link him to the entire Black Arms.If you believe the theory that Shadow was cloned off Sonic, you could consider Shadow as being his identical twin. This would make Sonia and Manic his sister and brother.(The Sonic Underground gets a new member!:D)Jules and Bernie (Sonic's parents) would be considered Shadow's parents as well(so Shadow has four "parents"...wow).Uncle Chuck would be Shadow's uncle. In case you're thinking "Holy cow this is confusing! No wonder no one else had the mental caliber to think of this!",don't worry,I'll provide a nifty family tree below to help.

From June 14-June 21, 4kids brought Sonic X back for the second time; it came back before, but only episodes 1-29 aired, and it ran for a little more than 7 months. In honor of this, they held The Top 10 Super Sonic Moments. Fans got to vote on their favorite moments, and these would be aired on TV. Me? I voted for "Sonic and Shadow: Unite and Fight". These moments will be covered below in detail.
1."Sonic goes Super Sonic"
Episode 1(Chaos Control Freaks): Sonic and Sam race down the highway towards the end of the episode. (My 6th choice; The reason it was called "Sonic goes Super Sonic" is because Sam says "The only way he can beat me now is if he goes supersonic!"
2."Sonic vs. Knuckles"
Episode 5 (Cracking Knuckles) Sonic and Knuckles fight after Eggman tricks the latter. (My 7th choice; at least the 6th choice was interesting, though forgettable)
3."Sonic and Shadow: Unite and Fight"
Episode 38(Showdown in Space): Sonic and Shadow fight the Biolizard in their Super Forms.
4."Sonic Strikes Back"
Episode (40/41?) (Eggman for President/Sunblock Solution) When Sonic is smashing the Sunshine Towers because he suspects Eggman is up to something (and ultimately, he's right). (My 5th choice;Probably the only reason this was here is because it's a bit surprising seeing Sonic as the "antagonist")
5."Sonic vs. Shadow"
Episode 34 (Shadow Knows) When Sonic and Shadow race through the streets of Station Square and battle. (My second favorite; I loved this scene)
6."Sonic Meets Chris"
Episode 1 (Chaos Control Freaks) When Sonic falls into Chris' pool and Chris saves him. (My 3rd choice;good, we finally have a more heartfelt moment)
7."Sonic RoboBattle"
Episode 1 (Chaos Control Freaks) At the beginning of the episode, when Sonic breaks into Eggman's base to rescue Cream and battles some robots.(My 10th choice;Um, why was this here?)
8."Showdown at Sea"
Episode 16 (Depths of Danger)Towards the end of the episode, when Sonic is fighting Eggman's squid robot and Sam helps. (My 9th choice;See above)
9."Hello Shuffleboard"
Episode 39 (Defective Detectives) At the end of the episode, Sonic and Eggman talk and Eggman "plans" to retire, saying "Goodbye world domination; hello shuffleboard". (My 4th choice;I never expected this to be here, but it was funny nonetheless)
10. "Hit or Missile"
Episode 3 (Missile Wrist Rampage): When Sonic takes on Missile Wrist about 2/3 of the way through the episode. (My 8th choice;other than being from one of the worst episodes of all time, there was nothing memorable about it)
By the way, the winner was "Sonic and Shadow: Unite and Fight"! Sadly, none of the other's rankings were announced.
