Appearance: A petite teenage girl with long black hair and 
yellow eyes. Whipcord lean.
Race: Human Hybrid (Vampire)
Abilities: Enhanced agility, strength, and speed. Night vision, 
prophetic dreams, mind-link to vampire. Motor-bikes.
Background: The same Pearl from Black Rose, except a little bit 
older and more mature, and more cynical. She's back and 
searching for Michael.

Short: AKA the Wizard. Expert in all devices, including magi-tek 
devices. Always has a trick up her sleeve. Strong and stubborn.

mother in the shadowy gallery, and the confrontation within, 
then the fight. Originally chosen because the "Missing Link" 
part of the lyrics sounded like mezume. Song changed in beta 
version.

Chapter Three: Sign of the Rose

The streets of New Avalon were very empty.

The new curfew had cleared the skyways and streets quickly, 
leaving nothing but clear space. No teenagers bent on a night of 
fun littered the streets, no gangs emerged to challenge the 
authority of the militia. The spires were dark of all light, the 
usually bright towers dead and lifeless due to the power-outage 
Short had masterminded.

And the cameras which were supposed to watch over the populace 
were dead as well, allowing Pearl to slip through the streets 
undetected.

There was no need for stealthiness. The militia would check the 
gang routes first, having been tipped off by the traitor. No one 
would expect a gang member to stick to the upscale roads and the 
ground. Skyways were easier to traverse, but in the end, one had 
to be on the ground to get out of the city.

Pearl, aided by the magic that had seeped into her veins, making 
her a rogue 'changling', ran like the wind.

The sound of her boots hitting the pavement echoed loudly. 

Rose Which Has Not Bloomed, from Revolutionary Girl Utena- As 
Pearl flees through New Avalon, security forces of the Black 
Phoenix in hot pursuit.

Duck and Run, by Three Doors Down- During the fight scene at the 
gates of New Avalon.

Interlude: Mother

The Promise, by Enya- As Buffy is musing over the appearance of 
her daughter.

I am Buffy Summers, or so they tell me.

I was a Slayer centuries ago, a hero in a world that didn't know 
that it needed a hero. I fought for the survival of the human 
race, and for the eradication of the demonic forces on Earth. I 
killed vampires, demons, and changlings.

Then why does a changling call me Mother?

The power went out a few hours ago. They tell me someone cracked 
the mainframe, and brought down the power systems of New Avalon. 

So I sit in the darkness of the gallery that holds pictures of 
what they tell me where my deeds. There's a gorgeous painting on 
the wall of me with my sword raised, gown swirling around me, 
along with red streaks that seem to be my blood. And then 
there's one of me standing triumphant, my stake sliding into the 
heart of a vampire.

Chapter Four: Wastelands

Champagne Supernova, by Oasis- As Pearl leaves the buggy behind 
and heads out towards Angelis.

Chapter Five: Riddles

Fear and Love, by Enigma- While the priest is escorting Pearl 
through the sanctuary, and while she's waiting for the 
records-keeper to let her into his room.

Interlude: Operetta

Diva Dance, from the Fifth Element- As assassins try to 
eliminate the four vampiric leaders of Lunatic.

Chapter Six: Lunatic Nation

Blue, by Eiffel 65- While Pearl searches for a hacker in the 
rave.

Leave You Far Behind, by Lunatic Calm- As the security forces of 
Lunatic bust into the rave.
