(Giles appears, standing in a black void. Behind him are statues of Xander, Willow, Angel, Buffy, Oz, Tara, Cordelia, and Doyle.)

Giles: The human race has almost been exterminated. The last Slayer disappeared three hundred years ago, and her daughter vanished into obscurity. Angel and his companions vanished as well, but legends continued to come out of the wastelands of Western America.

(He begins to walk through the darkness, away from the statues.)

Giles: Meanwhile, the existence of magic and the demonic races could not be denied. Demons multiplied. And while they did, humans mastered the lost arts of science and magic, combining the two to survive. 

(We flash out away from him, camera pans down over a futuristic city of spires and skyways. Dark clouds gather overhead, and thunder splits the air.)

Xander: The year is 2330. And city states war for control of the world. In the city of New Avalon, built on the ruins of San Fransisco, a new leader has risen to lead the city. The Black Phoenix. The unseen and enigmatic ruler of New Avalon.

(Flash out to the banner of a black phoenix on a red background.)

Willow: While the city states of Angelis and Lunatic Nation prepare for war with the world, heroes and villains from long past have appeared, each with their own agenda and each with their own story. 

(The banner changes to Michael. He's dressed in standard Angel-style clothing, and he stands in front of a banner of an avenging Angel. He shifts into a combat stance, and his vampire face emerges.)

Angel: And in the streets of New Avalon, Sauriel, the Angel of Death, born from the ashes of a world long gone past, must make sense of a new and dangerous world, before she can face her past, and the future.

(Flash out to a shadowy figure with long black hair and yellow eyes. She flips through the shadows, and lands atop a statue.)

Buffy: From the ashes of the past, heroes walk the earth again. And the daughter of the Slayer may prove to be more important than anyone knows...

(The scene changes, and she stands alone in the void.)

Buffy: And the world will change again, whether they like it or not.
