| Valero has gone through many ups and downs in his life, like most people, but because of a trauma he suffered as a child, he developed a disassiociation disorder which creates alternate personalities whenever the stress becomes too great for him. In this way over half a dozen complete personalities have formed inside of him. These hang around in Valero's mind, sometimes talking to him out of the blue, making him appear rather insane when he randomly speaks to an invisible someone. Though they all help him deal with life's difficulties in one way or another, the help is ultimately damaging, as they make him further retreat into those masks of defense. On top of that, the more forceful alternates personalities, or "alters", sometimes take complete possession over his motor skills, using him without him being able to do anything at all. Fortunately, all the alters are working towards the same goal: keeping Valero alive. All the different alters are an extreme of one of Valero's personality traits, but the original himself is usually timid and reserved with strangers. Once he opens up to people, he doesn't hold back. His normal personality, well rounded and healthy, shines through on a monthly basis, and at these times, the alters have the least control. Valero came about the House when the team of mercenaries he was in was attacked by the Ebene. One of his alters, the most violent one, "took care" of the situation, but his peers blamed him for the attack and turned on him, forcing him to flee. He ended up at the House, where he tries to prove his use by being the healer in retreaval missions. | |||||||||||||||||||||
