| Jonas grew up with his parents, his older brother, and his older twin sister in Shaldani. Growing up, he went to school with Casey, although they never talked much. During the summers, while studying during his spare time, he traveled with his family, his parents being traveling merchants around the country. Just recently, though, while he was running errands in down, the Ebene attacked his home and stole the souls of his family. When he returned, he was horrified by the scene before him. The Ebene trapped him in his home and attempted to use a portal on him, but it didn't work. He managed to escape and ran away to the Phoenix House, where he re-met Casey and made new friends.
