She Didn’t Deserve It
Chapter Three – Lyoko
“They
are on their way,” Jeremie said. Odd grabbed Gabi’s
hand and pulled her to the elevator. “Wait, she is going in, too?”
“We
need all the help we can get!” Yumi shut the doors
and they went up.
“Gabi,
when we get in there, you need to get into one of the scanners. After that, you
will see Yumi and Ulrich there already. I’ll come
after them,” Odd explained. Gabi had her mouth half open, but she nodded.
Odd
opened the scanner and she rushed in, she looked like she would scream if she
could when it closed. There was an amplified voice.
“Transfer
Ulrich…. Transfer Yumi… Woah,
Gabi’s card just came up. Transfer Gabi…. Scanner, Ulrich…. Scanner Yumi…. Scanner Gabi…Virtualization!”
Jeremie called. Gabi fell to the ground when she
suddenly appeared. She winced, and was quickly helped up by Ulrich. She was
wearing a dark green dress with a different shaded turtleneck. She had a brown
bag with a sling shot and 20 metal balls, and her hair twisted in the back,
while a few strands fell on her face in the front. Not long after, Odd joined
them.
“Hey, Cool,” Odd smiled. Gabi looked around,
shocked. “Welcome to Lyoko!”
“Come
on, Aelita must be in trouble,” Yumi
breathlessly said. They Jumped down quite a few
platforms until they came to an Ice-like bubble.
“They’ve
trapped her!” Odd told Jeremie.
“Na,
She created it to protect herself. It must have taken
away half of her life points,” Jeremie mournfully
said. “She only has 20 points left.”
“That
could be a problem,” Ulrich grumbled.
“Hey,
Jeremie, what’s Gabi’s power thing?” Odd asked.
“I’ll
upload her profile, one moment…” Jeremie trailed off.
“Here, it says shape shifting.” Gabi raised both eyebrows is surprise.
“Hey,
didn’t Aelita say there were Krabes
and blocks around?” Yumi asked, and just then a laser
shot out and hit Gabi’s knee. She squealed in pain. Everyone turned her way,
forgetting their attacks.
“Guys!
What are you doing?! The Ice chamber is coming down! Get rid of the armies!” Jeremie yelled at them. Yumi and
Ulrich snapped out of their reverie and began to fight. Odd stared.
“Did
you just yell?” Odd asked. Gabi covered her mouth, in shock.
“O-o-o-Odd?” She tested to see if it was true. “I-I c-can do it!” Gabi looked like
she had won the lottery or something.
“ODD!
GABI! GET GOING, NOW!” Jeremie yelled and they
scattered. Yumi used her fan against a Krabe, and it exploded. “X.A.N.A. has sent two Megatanks! This is bad! Ulrich, we need two more people!” Jeremie hinted.
“Triplicate!” Ulrich transformed and there were two identical Ulrich’s, one on either
side of him. Odd climbed on one of the opening tanks and shot at it and watched
it explode.
“They’ve
blasted through Aelita’s wall!” Yumi
gasped as the ice flew into chunks and Aelita ran
toward Odd.
“Who
is that?” Aelita
glared at Gabi, who climbed out of the icy rubble made from the barrier. “Is
she a X.A.N.A. creation?”
“No,”
Odd shook his head. “Our new friend Gabi. She is new
to the team.”
“Gabi,
you stay and protect Aelita, hide somewhere until
it’s safe,” Yumi yelled as she caught her fan that
had soared back to her like a boomerang.
Aelita
pulled Gabi behind a small glacier and hid.
“I’m
Aelita,” Aelita held out
her hand.
“I’m
Gabrielle, but-“ Gabi’s face turned thrilled. “Oh,
it’s so great to be talking again. I was incapable of speech before I entered Lyoko.”
“Yumi, you lost 20 life points on that hit!” Jeremie told her. “Be careful. Yumi,
you’re hit again!”
“Another horde?! Where is X.A.N.A. getting all of these?” Ulrich asked.
“He’s
taken all of the data of creatures you already destroyed and is reusing them.
Every single one you see here, you have destroyed at one time. Odd, your hit,
that’s 20 Life points! Ulrich, you just lost a clone of yours.”
“Do
you think they’ll be able to do it?” Gabi asked, worried.
“They
have never fought all these at once. There are at least 20 still over there. Ohh, Ulrich’s other clone has been hit,” Aelita peeked out. “I have high doubts…”
“Wait,
I have a plan…” Gabi began to whisper in Aelita’s
ear.
~*~
“Aelita, no!” Ulrich yelled. “What are you doing?!”
The
pink-haired girl ran out from behind the glacier and ran beside Ulrich, Odd and
Yumi.
“Aelita, take cover!” Yumi yelled, angrily. Aelita was the target for all the creatures and they began
to shoot rapidly toward her. She began to hop onto the Megatank’s
top, and over onto a Krabes back, before running
around the rubble from the demolished Ice shield. After grabbing their
attention, she began to back up, and run far away from the tower.
“Excellent!”
Jeremie commented, knowing the secret.
“What
are we going to do now? She is the only one that can deactivate it!” Yumi stormed. Odd looked shocked.
“She
wouldn’t know how to deactivate it,” Aelita stepped
out from behind the glacier. She was grinning mischievously. “That was Gabi.”
“Get
Aelita into the tower, Quickly!
Gabi only has 20 life points left!”
“Come
on, Aelita!” Yumi ran in
front on the extremely long platform. Aelita was
behind her, and Odd and Ulrich were on different sides of her.
“There
are still two Frolions that
weren’t distracted, they are circling behind the
tower.
“I
see them,” Odd grumbled.
“Be
careful, Yumi, you have only 10 life points, Ulrich,
60, and Odd, 50,” Jeremie read the information on the
screen.
“Laser Arrow!” Odd pointed his arm at one of them, but missed by feet because of how
far away it was from them.
“Ulrich,
you watch Aelita, you have the most life points,” Yumi told him. Yumi and Odd ran
faster and Yumi hit the closer one with her fan.
“Laser Arrow!” Odd repeated, but the arrow disappeared when Yumi’s
fan hit it while returning. “Oops.”
“Ulrich, now!” Jeremie called. “Gabi’s been devirtualized and they are all coming back for you!” Aelita ran behind Ulrich as they narrowly missed 5 shoots
of lasers. Aelita ran into the tower, and each ring
glowed as she touched it with her foot.
“Gabi
hasn’t returned, is she still there?” Jeremie asked.
“She’s
too far away to tell,” Yumi told him.
Aelita
set her hand on the screen and her name popped up in text. Next the words, Code
on it. She types in Lyoko and the screens around the
tower fall downward.
