About The Staff And The Beginnings Of Phoenix
Phoenix has been going for about 2 years. Before that it was called D.D's Saturday Nighters. It was the first social line dance run on a Saturaday night on a regular basis by people who weren't involved in running a dance class in the Notts area. The idea was formed by David Fewkes and he put it into reality in Dec 1996 at Trowell Parish Hall. Many people including teachers have followed Davids example since then. He retired from running it about 2 years ago after it was moved to the Community Hall, Washington Drive, Stapleford. It was renamed Phoenix and is run by David's wife Beryl and friend Yvonne. David still helps with equpiment and advice. We have a D.J, Richard, to play your favourite C.D's, which you can bring along, and he will play them for you. We mostly play the old favourites but welcome all new music if you wish to hear it. We move Friesland Sport Centre, Nursery Avenue, Sandiacre. Just off junction 25 on the 8th June 2002.

Hope to see you there
