The local community is hugely important to this project, and we want to become equally important to them. Over time we are certain that more and more opportunities will present themselves for us to utilise our resources and capabilities to benefit those around us beyond the educational and restart/work experience programs we intend to facilitate.

It goes without saying that we will seek, wherever possible to link up and co-operate with local arts groups and organisations, as well as schools and colleges with arts programmes. But we want to do more than that. So we have come up with a small selection of diverse ideas which we hope will go some way towards helping us to integrate and become a part of the drive to improve the local area, and enrich the lives of those that live here.

  • Jobs/Careers/Training fare held at least twice yearly to bring job centres, Employment Services, Businesses and Companies, Colleges, Universities and other training and educational facilities, and school leavers and job seekers together.
  • A strong programme of daytime events for the OAP community including music hall presentations, nostalgia shows and tea dances.
  • A Saturday morning youth theatre with professional performers as teachers and workshop leaders, regular performances in one of the main theatres, and the opportunity to take part in at least one full scale production per year with the main resident companies.
  • Summer Holiday arts workshops and classes for schoolchildren where we will offer everything from dance to circus skills.
