Dowsing
All things whether living or inert give off energetic radiation. Our own senses can feel and measure these energies. The pendulum becomes our communication device between conscious and subconscious.

A pendulum receives information from the vibrations and energy waves emitted by people, places, thoughts and things, and has been used for centuries.
For instance, dowsing has been found on cave drawings estimated to be over 8000 years old. The practice of dowsing, either by pendulum or rod was used in the time of Queen Cleopatra, who's own advisors used it extensively.

Books on dowsing have been published dating from the 16th Century. More recently dowsing has been used by the United States Military originally to locate water supplies but this then extended to locating underground mines, sea mines and tunnels in Vietnam and unexploded shells following World War 1. French physicians used it in making a diagnosis, a science called radiethesia. Dowsers are today employed by prominent oil and pharmaceutical companies.

We are all born with the ability to dowse and children especially make the best dowsers. Unfortunately through lack of knowledge, interest or confidence we do not utilise this ability which could be so useful to us in our everyday lives.
To be a successful dowser you need only two requirements; your own pendulum or rod and lots of practice.

A pendulum is anything that can be suspended from a chain or piece of thread. Some people use specially crafted crystals. However even a paper clip suspended from a piece of cotton would be adequate for dowsing. The length of chain or thread usually needs to be at least 3 to 4 inches long. If it is longer than that, just wrap the exess around your finger. I use a clear quartz crystal suspended from a chain.

There are two other types of instruments used for dowsing. Rods and bobbers. Rods come in two types "L" and "Y" shape.
L shape rods are usually made from wire and are 12 to 16 inches long. Y shaped rods are made from plastic, metal or wood and are 12 to 24 inches long.
Bobbers are made from flexible wire or branches and are 1 to 3 feet in length. They are sometimes made from coiled wire with a weight on the end.

After obtaining a pendulum, whether by buying, or making one yourself, you need to train it. Some people feel it is important not to let anyone else handle the pendulum, as this may interrupt your own energy. Hold the string or chain between your thumb and forefinger, allowing the pendulum to dangle between 3 and 9 inches below. In your normal tone of voice, or silently and mentally, instruct your pendulum which direction will indicate a "yes" response; whether clockwise, counter-clockwise, or a vertical or horizontal movement. After this, instruct the pendulum to move in an opposite manner, saying this will be the "no" answer.

The purpose of the programming is to obtain accurate responses. You are suggesting establishing an agreement on what is meant by different pendulum movements. Some people programme their pendulum by drawing a circle on a piece of paper and by holding their pendulum over the circle they instruct it in this way. You then need to practice this lesson daily until you are confident in different movements and their meaning.

I have trained my pendulum to swing back and forth for "yes" and side to side for "no". I use the swing "clockwise", for unsure, cannot answer, or do not understand the question. I programmed it by drawing the swings on a piece of paper to keep them in mind when asking a question. With practice I didn't need to do this any more and I can automatically interpret the swings.

Now you are ready to start using your pendulum. When seeking information from dowsing talk to the pendulum as if it were a trusted friend. This will help to keep you uninvolved in the outcome of the answer, and build a 'trust' with it so you become used to its pattern of psychic vibrations. This leaves your mind free to concentrate on the action of the pendulum. I find that it helps to wear the pendulum, if on a chain or looped string, as often as you can, as this also helps to build a psychic link with it and therefore makes it easier to 'communicate' with.

Contact Mind Reading
The art of contact mind reading is based on the principal of picking up tiny involuntary hand movements of a person in order to pick up certain signals, and be able to interpret these movements to obtain information. Scientific investigation has proved that dowsing also works on the same principal. When we ask a question and the pendulum/ rods move, they are actually picking up on these involuntary hand movements made by our subconscious mind. In our subconscious mind we already know the answer, though we may not know it consciously. Dowsing is a way of training our mind to know that if the pendulum swings or the rods move in a certain way, the answer is 'yes' or 'no'. From this, we are able to decipher the information locked up in our subconscious mind.

Appropriate dowsing and questions to as
k
Dowsing is a very useful skill which can be utilised in every day life from asking what colour shirt should I wear today, to should I change my current job. However there are some basic rules which need to be observed to get the best results. You should only use dowsing for positive reasons. You should only ask questions which relate to yourself or a partner or close relative with their permission. Never ask questions about another person, unless asked by them.
Make your questions clear and precise: ie: "should I go to the Bank?" This is not a precise question and should be phrased "should I go to the Bank today?". "Should I take up exercise?" should be phrased "should I take up jogging?".
Always ask your questions when you are in a peaceful relaxed state with a clear uncluttered mind.
