| Charge of the God by Janet and Stewart Farrar Listen to the words of the Great Father, who of old was called Osiris, Adonis, Zeus, Thor, Pan, Cernunnos, Herne, Lugh and by many other names: My Law is Harmony with all things. Mine is the secret that opens the gates of life and mine is the dish of salt of the earth that is the body of Cernunnos. That is the eternal circle of rebirth. I give the knowledge of life everlasting, and beyond death I give the promise of regeneration and renewal. I am the sacrifice, the father of all things, and my protection blankets the earth. Hear the words of the dancing God, the music of whose laughter stirs the winds, whose voice calls the seasons: I who am the lord of the hunt and Power of the Light, sun among the clouds and the secret of the flame. I call upon your bodies to arise and come unto me For I am the flesh of the earth and all its beings. Through me all things must die and with me are reborn. Let my worship be in the body that sings, for behold all acts of willing sacrifice are my rituals. Let there be desire and fear, anger and weakness, joy and peace, awe and longing within you. For these too are part of the mysteries found withing yourself. Within me all beginnings have endings, and all endings have beginnings. The Charge of the God by Kyri Comyn I am the strength of the rock at thy back, the roots of the tree that anchor the Earth and deepest of tides in the black depths of the ocean. I am the Hunter and the Sacred Prey, the warmth of the sun in the swelling grapes and the call of the road that leads over the hill. I give you, my creatures, the fire of love, the power of the wind on your face, shelter from the darkest storm. You are dear to me, and I instill in you my power...the power of peace hard earned, the power of vision and magical sight, and the spark of elemental fire, which is the primal light in the darkness. Follow your heart and your instinct, wherever they lead you. The wealth of the heart will guide you where the cold edge of logic cannot take you. Take joy in the powers of your bodies. The form your body takes is unique in the universe and is chief among your tools. Lastly, always remember the path you have left behind you. Learn to take your power from the foolish things you have wrought as well as the good you have done for others and for your world. You can never usurp another's power, and yours is the well upon which you must rely. I am with you always, just over your shoulder, running with you through the tall grasses and forests that surround you. I possess you and I am your Sacred Prey. I am the Lord of Death, and when you have come to the end of your life on this world, I will be there; to take you between the worlds, to offer you peace and rest. Look upon my face; know me. I am the spirit of the wild things, but you too, are wild in your souls and we are forever intertwined." Charge of the God by Dianis Lucien Listen to the Words of the Horned God, Who was of old called among men Adonis, Tammuz, Dianus, Herne, Bran, Beli, Lugh, Gwyn, Dionysus, Osiris, Cernunnos, Pan, And by many other Names. O Secret of Secrets, That art hidden in the being of all that lives, Not Thee do we adore, For That which adoreth is also Thou. Thou art That, and That am I. I am the Flame that burns in the heart of every being, And in the core of every Star. I am Life, and the Giver of Life, Yet therefore is the Knowledge of Me The Knowledge of Death and Resurrection. I am alone, the Lord within ourselves, Whose Name is Mystery of Mysteries. I am the Horned God. I am the Lord of the Universe, The Father of all living, The All-Devourer and the All-Begetter. I am He Whose Seed lies strewn As glittering Gems across velvet darkness Within the Womb of the Mother. I am the Lord of the Shadows In the darkness of the Underworld, For I am the Midnight Sun. I am the Light of the Stars, And the Spark of the Spirit Eternal, For I am the God Within. I am the Horned Leader of the Hosts of Air, The Leader of the Wild Hunt, The Judge of Gods and of Men. I am the Hidden God, Who ever yet remains, For I dwell within the secret seed. I am the seed of grain, I am the seed of flesh, I am the Seed of the Stars. I am the Lord of the Heights, I am the Lord of the Depths, God of forest, of flock, and of field. I am the Hunter and Hunted, I am the wolf and the Shepherd, I am the vine and the grain. I am a Guiding Star above you, I am a bright Flame before you, I am a smooth Path beneath you. I am the Light of Life. I am the Flame of Love. I am the Horned God! Charge of the God by David Rankine 'Hear My words and My dance of Life, sing My song of joyous Existance and chant My dirge of Death and Transformation, For I am Pan, Herne, Dionysus, Osiris, Gwyn Ap, Neith, Zeus, Shiva, Cernunnos, and all the faces of the God, and I am All and Nothing in the arms of My Love. I am the Phallus of LIfe and the See planted in the depths of death to nurture and comfort with my growth, dying and reborn through the seasons of the Mother; I am the Horns of Power on the brows of the Wise. Through veils and shadows I hunt and I guard: Lord of the Wild Hunt and Keeper of the Silent Peace; see My face all around you and know the joys of orgasm and death, transformed and reborn in the Cauldron of Dreams. My rites are of lust and joy and ecstasy. Let the psyche be rendered and let the universe be detroyed at the climax of your rites, that they may be reformed in love and laughter. Be strong, joyous, passionate, tender, wise and humble, and you will grow in Spirit. Stand with Me on the Earth and look around you, you are a child of all about you, and you must nurture eachother, that I may grow in you and whisper My song through you down the winds of changing seasons. |
