Straw golems were created by druids in areas of little tree growth. Made up of the grasses and weeds plucked from the earth shortly after the frost they contain all of the defenses of the land that belonged to the native vegitation. Believed to be first created by the Arch-Druid of Riftdale they have often been used in conjunction with the Games and are not often seen elsewhere, though it is rumored that others have discovered the ways of createing these golems.
Combat
Straw golems are strong and resiliant to most weapons, though very weak against any fire effect. They follow their masters orders without question or thought. With no inteligence of their own they have neither stratagy nor tactic to guide them through situations. Instead they use their extreme strength and longevity to serve them in combat.
Damage Reduction - Straw golems are springy and hard to damage with conventional weapons giving them damage reduction 10/+1
Fire Vunerability - A Straw golem is espeically flamable taking double damage from any fire attack.
Nettles - A Straw golem can add the stinging of nettles to it's slam attacks at will adding 1D4 damage on a sucsessful attack.
Poison - A Straw golem is imbued with the natural venom of the plants it was created with. Ivy Poison drains 1D3 temp dex (Fort Save DC:12) upon a successful attack.
Regeneration - Straw golems regenerate at a rate of 10 hp per round as long as they remain in contact with the ground.
Construction
A straw golem's body must be intricately woven out of out of 100 pounds of weeds and other plant life picked just after the frost.
The golem costs no money to those who take the time to gather the materials themselves. The ritual to create requiers a Cleric or Druid of 9th level or higher and costs 2400 XP from the creator, taking three weeks to complete.
