Midsumma - Opening night at Fed Square

I caught with a lot of my friends which was good, but it was drizzling a bit and I wasn't much in the mood, so I was ready to go home when I ran into iOTA! Wow, he's one of my favourite singers! Needless to say I hung around a bit longer :)
I liked my shoes a lot and I was happy to wear them out for the first time - but OMG, I think they gave me my biggest blisters ever!

A jam at Ben's place

Ben organised a jam with a whole bunch of muso's that had never met. I took my guitar around and made some noise and everyone else did pretty much the same. I don't know if I made the most noise, but I was definitely the shiniest there :)

Michael and I spent a whole day shopping for his en-femme ensemble and then with a little work Michaela was born, and doesn't she look stunning!
You'll have to excuse my weird outfit, but I headed to a Cartoon character fancy dress party as Blossom the Powderpuff girl before heading out again afterwards. I've thrown in a picture of her for those of you who don't know her.
We came across some girls playing pool and we just couldn't help ourselves. I've never had so much fun playing pool before ;)

I went to the opening of Midsumma with my brother Aaron (this was the first time he'd met Phoebe!), Sophie, Cassie, Jasmine, Sarah and Helen. It was also my first ever night out without my wig. It didn't look particularly great, but man it was a relief to not have to worry about your hair falling off ;)

~~ Miss Melbourne Drag Competition - Heat 7 ~~

Well I finally plucked up the courage and got up on stage!
It was my first time on stage ever in drag and I was sooo nervous it was unbelievable. I actually felt sick after my first number, I think it was a combination of nerves and exhilaration at finally doing it. But after the second number I was feeling very relieved and mostly glad that it was over.
I competed against Chelsea and Summer who I didn't see much of being back stage and all, but I hear they were fabulous ... and obviously much more fabulous than me because Chelsea won and Summer got the up-and-coming award and I came last :(

The judges did however say that it was a very tough heat to judge and I only missed out by 1 point! And they extended an invitation for me to go back and compete again in one of the remaining two heats.
Well at first I was mostly just dissapointed at losing and didn't intend to go in it again. But after a couple of days my head settled back into reality and I entered myself in the heat the following Saturday night.
So in heat 8 I competed again with 1 new number and won! YAY!
(cough cough) I was the only girl in my heat, but that's beside the point ;)
As it happened one of the contestants had a family issue they had to attend ... I booby trapped her car.
And the other never turned up and was never heard from ... she really put up a good fight.

So anyway, enough of the chit chat, here are the photo's from heat 7 ...

Here are a couple of photo's from the Midsumma March where I took part in the march down Fitzroy St, St Kilda (Victoria, Australia) handing out show bags with Melbourne Star, a Melbourne GLBT magazine.
I've known the boy in the second photo for about a year now through work and he had no idea about Phoebe until we ran into each other at the party in Catani Gardens after the march . It was pretty hilarious when he didn't realise it was me after talking to me for a couple of minutes, when of course I thought he was talking to me because he'd recognised me. This photo was taken a couple of minutes after I freaked him out.
