We will also be reading The Cay in Social Studies. Theodore Taylor wrote The Cay in 1969. It tells the story of a young boy, Phillip, and an old Black man, Timothy. When Phillip and Timothy are the only survivors of a shipwreck, they discover an abandoned island. The Cay tells the story of their friendship and survival.
