The Color of Water

In addition to Our America: Life and Death on the Southside of Chicago and The Cay, we will be reading The Color of Water by James McBride. The Color of Water was written by James McBride in 1996. It tells the story of James McBride and his mother, Ruth McBride, who is a white Jewish woman. The Color of Water is an interesting book because it is both a primary source and a secondary source! It is a primary source because it is James's autobiography. It is a secondary source because it tells the biography of Ruth.
