In this unit of study, we will learn how the first people came to America. As we learn about the first people in America, we will compare and contrast the America described by LeAlan and Lloyd in Our America and the America as experienced by the first people in our country. As we compare and contrast, we will begin to try to answer the question, "What is America?"
When we learn about the first Americans, we will play the popular "The First Americans" board game. We will also learn about the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayas...all types of Native Americans that were in America before any white Europeans! And we'll learn about how the Mayas believed in human sacrifice!
