The 20th Century

The final part of 6th grade Social Studies will be the Lesson Plan Project. You will work in a group to research a particular time period in the 20th century, and then you will teach your classmates about that time period in an entire lesson. This major project will be a large part of your final grade. More information about your assigned group and topic will come later, but below you can find the Grading Criteria and Requirements, the Grading Rubric, and the Lesson Plan Format.

Grading Criteria and Requirements for Lesson Presentations:

This presentation is to prepare you for your FUTURE. Knowing how to plan and execute a lesson on specific material is a skill that you will be able to use no matter what path you take. Teachers, doctors, lawyers, police officers, and even professional basketball players are expected to present themselves in a well-thought-out fashion on a daily basis. This is your opportunity to practice that kind of presentation in a friendly environment.

Moreover, this project is a major portion of your fourth quarter grade. You need to take this assignment seriously and to execute it in a professional fashion. YOU are responsible for the lesson on your assigned day, DON’T LET ME OR YOUR CLASSMATES DOWN.

That said, what follows below are the requirements and grading rubric for the assignment. Good luck! Please feel free to come in before or after school with questions IN ADVANCE of your presentation.
