Silk

Waking up in the morning, alone
Somebody selfish,
whom I love - you -
has left the country
just like that
There's tender snow across the fields
I suffer at the view
I doubt the shallow bliss
You remain a mystery to me

(2003)
After summer gives away
to strong, potent wind
morning needs calm people
drinking delicious caffeined coffee,
a sacredly flavored liquid,
have it glassed,
go shower,
work,
stagger me
as evening blossoms

(Fall 2002)
SOUL

An aching soul
a dead break
It's strange to imagine you abject
I peek outside,
take a glimpse at the world
I see a streak of fair weather
I squeeze my teddy bear,
buy a pair of shoes
How trenchant you sprinkle danger everywhere!
The answer is
your soul isn't wise

(2003)
Bliss

Blame guides me down
to perish in mad dust
The legal verdict
knocks against my door
and death enters
The score never meets
the music,
everything's a blur
and my excuse is crazy
