First of all, I WANT a copy of averti's story about Toby getting a Bank
Account. Somebody? Please? (Eyelashes bat.)
Second, I got a note from someone who commented that they didn't read
The List because they don't have time to read stories, but they like
reading my posts. Aside from the fact (hrumph) that The List is not a story,
but a diary/life-is-art-post, I realized that I can't read everything that
goes by on ASB either.
I have accumulated a HUGE backlog of unread stories. One entire inch
deep of DSDD floppies. I kept up with Elf's Journal Entries. I read Averti's
Shaved Splash. And yes, I read Cindy, too. That was the first story I ran
into on ASB ages ago, back in the days of Saltgirl, who is alive and well,
BTW. Fortunately, I ran into The Blue Box the day after Cindy, or I would
have lost interest. And the Academy series. And the Bottier's postings,
can't forget them. All of them.
But I can't read everything, and I want to give the best a chance to
tweak my, um, fancy. I got kinda squirmy reading Averti's story about the
barber chair, for example. I saved it to read again later.
Somebody needs to write reviews, so I know what to read. If you think
that a submission to the fabled ASB archives was the best ever, I'd like to
hear why.
I want a Siskel and Ebert. I especially liked Siskel....
Or someone should make up a survey of ASB story readers.
Or something. Anyway, I want a copy of the Bank Account.
It's pretty easy to have fun when your job is to be a critic. Isn't
anyone even tempted?
