A.R. Gurney - "The Problem"
The Problem, my directorial debut! A racy comedy with so many twists and turns it'll make yor head spin. I enjoyed being in the director's chair for this one, finally being in the captains chair.

I got a pretty damn good review from the school critics and the people who saw it. But I did get  one from a fellow student's mother who took offense to the racial overtones in the play. She gave me this dirty look as she was leaving the theatre as if I were some racist pig. This was a playwright who mocked the white upperclass and was one himself. My take on it is, the theatre's first purpose is to entertain, the second is to communicate. If the play and my direction can cause someone to emote in anyway, I've done my job.
Laura Weil, the perfect woman to play the Wife in this twisted play. If you were there, your perception on the wealthy upperclass libido would be forever changed.
Tom Bayles, the young man who played the Husband in this taudry tale. A clool customer who flips a page in his book and smokes his pipe as this twisted tale of love, betrayle, forgivness, and laughter (yes laughter, this play is a comedy!) unravels.
Meet my costume mistress, Sara Taylor. You'll see here again on my site. Absolutley gorgeous, no doubt about it.
A Toulouse Lautrec portrait?? You tell me.
Cabaret Night!
The California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco. Friday, March 9 2001. Now this is what acting is all about: fun and games baby! We sang bar songs, critiqued the locals, spoke poetry and wooed women.

We comendeered the main rotunda and created a fire hazard as we sang out in French. We put on an old school French street performance within the walls of a museum.
