Entry for August 3, 2007
After a brilliant day on Tuesday, the weather yesterday was back to normal. I or should I say we, got soaked whilst out walking early. I had intended to have a real go at finishing the diary deliveries but the rain persisted throughout the morning and it was after 10-30 when I was able to make a start. Through a fine mist, I trudged around the new estate and then onto Trenos. By 12-00, I'd had enough; anyway, it was time to go back to the PO and allow Lynda to go for lunch. The weather worsened, I was glad that I'd stopped, and through the PO window I watched as the rain lashed down. Earlier, I'd had a telephone call from the banking team asking about the letter I had sent to the 'boss'. It appears that my letter struck a chord and they're now prepared to review my case. So, we may get a 'free' ATM machine on site in Llanharan after all! I had some lunch at the Po; a pasty and a sausage roll, all healthy options, and when Lynda returned I went home. had a ham sandwich and a coffee and tried to doze for 10 minutes. Around 3-00, Sandra came home from the gym. I set off again, and by 4-30 I had finished delivering around Bryncae which left just a few house on Park View to deliver to. I'll do them Friday. I called into the Turb. Mike was there and I shared a pint or two of Abbot (it's got to be the best beer available). At 5-00, I went back to the PO, balanced the books, locked the door and headed for home. The weather by now was glorious. Sunshine, no wind, and a bit of warmth. We sat out on the swing and read the Diary whilst enjoying a rum and coke. Later we cooked tea and ate outside. By 8-00 it was getting a bit chilly so we moved indoors to watch a bit of telly (another detective series) and at 10-30 we'd had enough, so retired to bed. Hopefully the weather will stay dry enough for me to finish the Diary deliveries Friday.
