Yesterday didn't turn out as bad as I thought. Despite a very inaccurate weather forecast that led me to cancel my (and several other peoples) dive weekend, I had a reasonable days fishing on the pond. I drew peg 2. This is not where I would have chosen to fish, but following advice from the 'experts', I fished tight to the bank and caught nothing. Fishing further out brought me some tiny perch and roach, and in the afternoon I had a very unexpected 19lb carp - thank you very much!! I didn't win the match; didn't even come close, but it was nice to count a carp in with my weight. The day had been beautiful, perfect for diving - thank you very much Mr. weatherman. I arrived home at 5-00, and after washing off the smell nets, enjoyed a beer or three in the garden. Tea or should I say dinner, was chicken and baguette + some more beer. I slept like a log.
Today has been a busy day in the PO. Lots of car tax and some passport work. Ian and Kay took their boy fishing. They borrowed my kit and went to Seven Oaks. I went down to see how they were doing and watched as they caught small bream and roach. After lunch I managed to pack some trac envelopes ready for posting. The stamps will come on Wednesday; I want them all in the postal system as soon as possible after that. Tonight there's a dive meeting at the centre. I've got a bottle of wine for the raffle and am ready for the flack re- yesterday. Well, you can't get it right every time.
