I missed an entry yesterday; don't know why, I had loads of time to compose but as it was my birthday, I didn't really feel like doing anything. Anyway here's a short resume of my day. I walked the dog up to LJ and met up with Rod. I hadn't sen him for I don't know how long so we had plenty to catch up on which after all was said amounted to zilch!! It rained and boy did it come down. We attempted to shelter under the hedges but it was impossible, and both man and dog, or dogs in the case of Rodney, got very wet. We met Graham on the way back, but due to our wet state it was only a matter of exchanging pleasantries before we headed for home. I dried the dog and made her breakfast then showered and shaved. Sandra was ready to visit Tesco so we went in her car. The store was quiet. WE completed our shopping including a different variety of crackers, some Tesco buttery spread (which is crap!) and some cranberry roulette cheese. A bonus was some short dated mackerel fillets and 3 bottles of rhubarb Ruddles beer for £4. A bargain. After breakfast we visited Borders and bought a book, then went to the library and finished up in the outdoor store where a bought a lovely jacket. In the afternoon I went to the Post Office where we completed a good balance. The High Corner had run out of beer!! We headed home where the rhubarb beer tasted superb, the Havana rum was a good second course, and we enjoyed half an hour on the garden swing. The book I purchased was about a chap and his fishing history; I can't seem to put it down and was still reading it at 03-30am toady.
This morning I woke with a bit of a head. We walked up to LJ again. I couldn't believe that the trolley I reported to MS; twice!! was still there Does anybody really care?? The Post Office was reasonably busy but I managed to pay our income tax, sort out the telephone bill including applying for a refund from the PO, and have a go at the fax machine; it's working again!! Later that morning I did some diving club business including contacting 'Tall Paul' about the Pajero keys for the weekend. I managed to get in touch with Peter. He hasn't updated the web site yet but it's a job in progress. This evening the rain has moved in, ruining a chance to walk the dog; thankfully Sandra had already done it. I managed a pint of Bass in the High Corner; it wasn't bad. At home I finished my stock of rhubarb beer; shame!! and then had a glass of white wine and finished with a glass of cider. Am I alcoholic?? I think I may be alcohol dependent but draw the line at being a alcoholic. Tomorrow I will probably go fishing. Sandra is getting ready to go to Tatam Park. I will be home alone with the dog on Saturday and Sunday but I'm sure we'll manage.
