Mr.
Hi, I'm Phil, a Postmaster in South Wales. When I'm not working I enjoy walking, fishing and scuba diving.
Entry for June 3, 2007
Another crap weather forecast and it could have ruined my Sunday.  Haevy rain and strong winds it said on the telly.  Today's diving was knocked on the head.  I woke at 05-30.  The sky was grey but there was little wind.  We walked across to Miskin.  The fields above the Manor grounds are like wareship down with lots of rabbits.  I didn't see the fox today.  I listened to the fishing programme on talksport.  The presenter said that the weather where he was looked fine and that tempertures today were expected to climb into the mid 20s; where the hell did the rain go?  After a nice breakfast, sausage, egg and mushrooms, and strong coffee, we decided to go to the fur and feather event at Usk.  We set off at -9-30 and were amongst the first visitors to arrive, 10-00.  There were the usual trade shows with the usual cheap crap, but you can't help but have a nosy.  I bought a cotton sleeveless jacket, full of pockets and zips.  It'll be ideal for Summer dog walking.  The food stalls had the usual range of offerings so I tucked into a bacon butty - £3 - too much to pay, but it tasted nice out in the fresh air.  Later in the day, Sandra had a cheeseburger and I had atray of very greasy chips.  We had taken the dog and she behaved really well.  The hawking demos and the ferrets were interesting.  I was mildly dissappointed that fishing wasn't really catered for though I probably wouldn't have bought anything anyway.  We left at 2-00 and on the way back, stopped at a little pub, The Rat Trap.  They had a nice draught beer on tap and although it was a little expensive, £2.60 a pint, it was so tasty that I managed another one as well.  Sandra had her usual two halves of Strongbow.  We arrived home at 3-00 and spent the rest of the day relaxing with the telly and a book.  It still hasn't rained!!  Back to work tomorrow.  I suppose I'll get all the gossip on Vicky's new fella.
