Mr.
Hi, I'm Phil, a Postmaster in South Wales. When I'm not working I enjoy walking, fishing and scuba diving.
Entry for May 27, 2007
First day without the little dog.  Suki was up and down in the early hours.  Was she looking for her friend?  She woke as usual for her morning walk, and we followed the Clun river throough to Pontyclun, then came back via the Ely.  The rain which had been threatening from the start, was by now quite heavy so I decided to re-trace my steps and take advantage of the shelter provided by over hanging trees.  By the time we reached open country the rain had eased and the wind had picked up.  Back on the path by the cemetery, we met up wit Graham.  He was talking with Tony from Despenser.  We passed the time of day and on the walk back home, I told Graham about our sad loss.  He was very simpathetic as he had had a dog put down.  We talked about the circumstances, and how it was the best course of action considering the poor dog's condition;  but it don't make it any easier.  Later, I went on a fishing match.  By this time the wind was really blowing and the rain was lashing down.  I drew peg 12.  I've never fished this peg, but following advice from our leader Len, I fished close to the bushes and ended the day with three bream, a big perch and a shedfull of small roach.  It hasn't stopped raining all day, and the wind was blowing inot my peg so conditions wern't perfect, but I pegged my umbrella down, switched on my radio and enjoyed a day's fishing.  When I got home, Suki greeted me like a long lost friend.  Sandra said that she had been clingy all day.  I took her for a walk in the horse field and she seemed to enjoy it even though the weather was still awful.. It looks as though diving is out again tomorrow so I may try an early morning fishing session.  Must make the best of the bank holiday.
