Entry for March 24, 2007
Lovely start to the day; frosty, bright, dry. Decided to walk across the fields in Rhw-Season; the footpaths are in a terrible mess. The gate seperating the horses field and the marsh area, has fallen down and the horses have access. They have trampled the footpath into the marsh. It's ankle deep in thick black mud. We managed to get through, but the little dog's legs were caked in mud. The bloody horses have even been along the path by the river. It almost seems malicious! Saw a lovely buzzard; he swooped low over the field before landing on a fence post. They're such big birds; magnificent. Nice to see the hedges are sprouting again, they'll soon be in leaf. Post Office fairly quiet, glad it's only half a day; some car tax, but mostly postage. I looked in the paper to see what time the football would be on telly. Would you believe it, four internationals, and all on bloody Sky! It's enough to drive you to drink; but I didn't. It was such a lovely afternoon that we went for a walk along the Taff trail. The footpaths were nice and dry. Lots of ducks, but no kingfishers. Saw some lovely big fish in the canal; are they chub, barbel, or carp; I don't really know. The river level was low. Later I went around to Keith's shop to borrow some sea fishing gear for tomorrow. There's a match with Whitehill Sea Fishing Club, at Aberamon beach. We meet up at seven thirty, but seeing as the clocks go forward this evening, it'll be interesting to see how many actually turn up. Got my monthly salary advice from the Post Office today. The amount has dropped by over £200. That's a result of giving all those Post Offices Euro currency; we used to be exclusive, but not anymore. Bastards!! If this keeps up, and I have every reason to suspect that it will, I may need to take some pretty drastic action.I intend watching the highlights of today's games on telly, so I still don't know how England got on. Poor bloody Wales lost again; Tosh seems to be getting nowhere, wonder how long he'll last. Hvae to get some sleep now; early start tomorrow.
