Mr.
Hi, I'm Phil, a Postmaster in South Wales. When I'm not working I enjoy walking, fishing and scuba diving.
WElcome back to
Welcome back to blog entries.  I've been on a short break to the Isle of Wight, fishing, with friends.  We left in the early hours of Sunday morning, and caught the first red funnel ferry across from Southhampton to the Island.  The accomodation, a farmhouse premises, had all the necessary facilities.  Fishing was available on three lakes situated 150 yards from the farm.  Our first visit coincided with heavy rain and gale force winds,  The fishing was easy with two to four pound carp, and good size roach.  They were taking virtually any baits though we stuck to luncheon meat and corn and later on, bread.  I fished every morning from 05-30 until 08-00, and then, had another four hour session later in the day,  The weather did improve albeit marginally.  The fishing remained easy, and it was only possible to have short seeions before becoming bored.  The local pub sold Abbot ale and London Pride as well as some really creative food.  All in all it was a restful break with all the party getting on well together.  We returned today, catching the -6-30 ferry back to Southhampton and arriving back in South Wales at 10-00.  The Post Office seems to have been quiet enough, though customers coming in this afternoon are very concerned with recent announcemrnts re- Post Office closures.
