Mr.
Hi, I'm Phil, a Postmaster in South Wales. When I'm not working I enjoy walking, fishing and scuba diving.
Entry for March 23, 2007

Not a bad day.  Started with an early morning walk across the fields to Pontyclun.  The fields are still very wet and muddy and I was glad of my boots.  I am dissapointed at the lack of trout in the river Ely.   Normally at this time of year  there are lots by the bridge near the railway station.  Recently I haven't seen any.  Is it because of the intervention of the enviroment people who added huge stone blocks to the river last year, altering the flow?  The bailiff tells me that lots of 'brownies' were introduced this year.  Where are they all?  On the way back I was rewarded with the sighting of a pair of kingfishers, and later on I saw my first goldfinch for this year.  We got back to the house around 8-00am.  A two hour walk.  Later on I wrote two 100 word stories.  The writing editing and final printing took the best part of two hours - amazing!  Afterwards I wrote a monologue about my early life, in response to Theresa's request for work re- an egg timer.  I was fairly pleased with the results; it remains to be seen what Theresa thinks!  It was busy in the Post Office.  Vicky had accepted a cash deposit from Nigel,,V.C. The cash was short. but I managed to contact Nigel and he rectified the error.  Pencoed Post Office is still off line and so we are getting straggs of their business.  Passport checking is booming.  Thank God for that.  Currency is quiet but what can you expect.  I got a letter from Redwoods Estate Agency yesterday.  I almost sent an E-Mail, but will ring them monday instead.   England are playing football tomorrow but I don't know if the game is on the telly.  Whitehills Sea Anglers have a fishing match on Sunday.  I'll probably attend, if I can borrow Keith's fishing tackle - depends on the weather.  Must make a start on re-reading the Officer's Ward tonight, and must start my critical review by Sunday.  Chuffed to see my name on the firstpage of google for PHILTHEPOST.  Wonder how much cred that gives me with Sheenagh for the I.T.course; I could do with some.
