Entry for April 29, 2007

The end of another lovely weekend.  Yesterday morning in the Post Office it was mega busy.  I did lots of car tax and got really fed up of having to tell people that due to the budget announcement the price as printed on their renewal form was wrong.  This caused delays and queues and really upset the situation.  In the afternoon, we took Suki along the Taff Trail.  Saw a mink, herons, and ducks with ducklings.  On our return home, I enjoyed a few pints of speckled hen and a couple of white rum and cokes.  I went to bed early; had a good book to read and I wanted to get up early to go fishing.

Woke at 05-30am.  A lovely morning.  By the time I got to the lake it was 06-00.  I started fishing.  The sun was rising, the birds were singing.  I saw a kingfisher, two canada geese came visiting along with two ducks, and the buzzard put in an appearance.  Unfortunately, the fish weren't obliging although I did manage one bream.  Got home at 09-30, and following breakfast, we decided to wah the outside of the conservatory and jet wash the patio and driveway.  The surfaces were very dirty and it was around 12-30 by the time we finished.  Suki had missed her walk so I took her across the fields and through to Mywndy.  Saw plenty of rabbits and squirrels.  The sun was high and the weather warm.  Suki was tired by the time we got home.  Sandra had boiled cauliflower, so we had this with some chicken.  I tried to sleep in the afternoon, but it was too warm and I read my book instead.  I decided to go fishing again at 4-30.  I saw David, the bailiff.  He'd been fishing with Len at a venue in Cowbridge and they called back to the lake to check who was fishing.  David gave me some corn which I added to my stock.  There was plenty of fish movement, but again, they weren't obloging on the hook.  Decided to go home at 7-30.  Suki had missed her walk again!!  So we went down to the Pant river and ahd a short walk.  It was alovely evening and we saw rabbits and squirrels, but the river was very cloudy and there was no fish life.  Enjoyed two cold speckled hen whilst listening to radio 4, then wrote my blog.
