Mr.
Hi, I'm Phil, a Postmaster in South Wales. When I'm not working I enjoy walking, fishing and scuba diving.
Entry for April 5, 2007
Can't believe it, after swearing I would write an entry everyday, I haven't written in  my blog since Monday.  So, in an attempt to catch up here's what's happened since.  Tuesday I cracked on with the 1000+ postal items for Trac magazine.  I picked up the envelopes, and started packing.  By 4-30pm I'd finished; envelopes packed, and all the address labels on.  I was exhausted!  So, I went for a pint or three and when I got home, Ian was waiting with the fishing gear ready for Wednesday.  By the time we'd sorted everything out and I'd eaten, I was literally too tired to turn on the computer; that's my excuse anyway!  Wenesday morning I got up at 6-00am, walked the dog (short walk) and got back in time for a bit of breakfast.  Ian Kay and Joe came around at 7-15am and we headed for  Barry Docks.  We found the place without too much difficulty and were soon heading out into the murky waters of the Bristo; Channel.  It was a cold start and I was glad that I'd brought plenty of warm clothing.  We fitted up four rods and started fishing.  It wasn't long before the dogfish started coming in.  All in all we had a good day.  Good boat, excellent skipper, and the weather brightened up.  Later in the afternoon, we caught more species and ended up with lots of doggies, Ian caught a bull huss, Joe caught a spotteed ray, and the Skipper caught a thornback.  Later in the pub, we enjoyed several pints of Spitfire and got home tired but happy. Today (Thursday), online services in the Post Office were not working so as you can imagine, we weren't very popular.  Never mind, we managed to get some cleaning done, and served customers with vehicle tax discs and got through a lot of postage.  There, I've managed to get everything down except to not that I took the dog a walk tonight and I was wearing shorts and a tee shirt.  It was lovely to be out dressed so casually.  Summers on its way.
