The Band:

Who We Are:

Formed in 2004, Phixs faced problems from the get go. With Christian Kettlewell on Guitar, Josh Edmonds on drums, and no one to fill the spaces in between, the duo went to work, going through several possible Bass players and Vocalists. In the end, Kettlewell and Edmonds, upon discovering that Josh could also play the Bass, and that Christian could sing, the two didn't hesitate to jump on opportunity. Josh moved to Bass, and Christian tackled Vocals and Guitar. They went right to writing music, and in May of that year, the two played at the big Spring Recital for the Take A Bow Studio of Expressive Arts, headed up by Jackie Charron and Shannon Olsen. Performing their first single "Rugby", the two were immediately fan favorites. They continued writing music and went on to play at other shows headed by the Take A Bow Studio. In mid 2005, the two aspiring artists hit the studio with Todd Olsen (Lead guitar, background vocals for The Waiting, now producer) and recorded their single "Rugby". After a successful acceptance by local fans, Phixs decided it was time to find themselves more members and get back in the studio to put out a cd. During the search for more permanent members, Phixs played several local shows with the Take A Bow Studio at the Mall of Georgia for Christmas, and the Lawrenceville Square on New Years Eve. In early 2006, J.D. Cooper jumped on board as Lead Guitarist, and Ricky Lawrence joined on as Drummer. The band went back into the studio in mid 2006 and are currently recording their debut EP (Entitled "EP & J) and are expecting an early 2007 release. The band is already in the works of writing for a cd to follow up to the EP, expecting to have their first full length cd out by Christmas 2007.

"Be a Firehose" The phrase, the lyric, the way of life. The next single to come off of the highly anticipated Phixs EP, "Firehose" is not just a song, but is in fact a way of life. A way of life that the homely Phixs, whose music spans from genres including Christian Rock, Post Hardcore Christian, and Alternative Christian, strives with every word of every song to fullfil. "To be a 'Firehose' " states Josh Edmonds, the bands bass player and background vocalist, "Is not just a thing you can simply do. You have to live your life, so fully for Christ, that you act as a firehose, extinguishing every flame of darkness that springs up in your, and others' lives, day in, and day out." The term "Firehose" as a type of person, was invented by Josh, to describe those who allow God to act as the water, and the person as the hose, being used to put out fires, which stand for the evil in our world. "As the winds of time blow and blow, the fires will spread, and we hope that our music inspires enough people to take a stand for God, that we can put out these fires for good." Hailing from Lawrenceville, Georgia, Phixs stands firm in their beliefs and fights hard to make it in a largely secular music industry, creating music inspired by God, to bring hope to others. With opportunities constantly on the rise, the possibilities seem limitless, and the four God-driven teens, all under the age of 19, seem determined to fight until people begin to realize the Firehose way of life. In now late 2006, Phixs is on the rise, preparing to begin playing more local shows and release their EP, look out for these four teens as they continue to blast the ears of doubters with God touched lyrics and music. World, be ready. Phixs is coming.
