Chapter History
Founding Date: May 8, 1993
Philanthropy: Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation benefitting the national kidney foundation
Slogan: "The light of love burns forever"
How we formed: A local sorority, Kappa Xi, and an interest group joined to form the Theta Gamma chapter at Gannon University.  Kappa Xi was a local sorority, and Gannon mandated that all local sororities go national.  Several national chapters made presentations and the interested women voted on their favorite.  Alpha Sigma Alpha and Alpha Sigma Tau were also two of the chosen chapters.

I Will Remember You
The Rose
Symbol: Lighthouse
"We are each the stones that come together to form the lighthouse, a tower of strength, built upon the shifting sands of time.  Piled closely together and bonded by the mortar of life.  When one of us is weak she leans upon those around her and the lighthouse maintains the Integrity of her structure.  Through waves crashing upon her walls, solid she stands.  Guiding the lost and the scared to safety.  No stone within her is flawless, yet each has its place contributing to the character of the whole.  By day she may go unnoticed, but in the darkness the lighthouse is always there, silent through the night.  The light that burns inside of her burns inside all of us.  It is the light of love and it will burn forever"

Mascot: Dolphin

"The dolphin, our mascot, represents the personality of a Phi Sigma Sigma woman.  Both belong to a distinct social organization, allowing them to swim singly or in pairs, as individuals or friends, yet enables them to congregate in large herds, so a never to be alone.
As a Phi Sig women we strive for good scholarship; the best on Gannon University's Campus.  Just as our Phi Sig Dolphin; one of the most intelligent creatures of the sea.
The prominent snout combines with the curvature of the dolphins mouth to produce a natural smile.  This same, proud smile we as Phi Sig Women wear and show off on G.U's Campus.
The dolphin's apparent friendliness attracts the attention of sailors and their presence alongside ships is a good open to seamen and a promise of fair weather.  So does the apparent friendliness of a Phi Sigma Woman attract the attention of Leaders in Government, Industry, and Education; here a Phi Sig Woman is a good open and a promise of success.
As in ancient Roman times, dolphins were carriers of the gods to help schoolboys and maidens in distress.  Now as Gannon Phi Sig College Girls in distress; our Phi Sigma Sigma Dolphin can help guide us to achieve all our goals"
