I am a Dutch stamp collector, born in 1941, married and father of two children. Our son is a computer software engineer and our daughter is a school teacher. After obtaining my Master's Degree in Chemistry, I worked for The Dow Chemical Company for 28 years. Most of that time I spent in the Research Laboratories, specializing in separation sciences. I contributed to a variety of articles in professional journals. |

I was a stamp collector for many years but after my early retirement I finally got the time to spent on my collections. My stamp collecting interests are still very broad and vary from country-specific through postal history and from machine cancellations to thematic subjects. As a member of the local stamp club, I participate as an officer for public relations and I lead a stamp club for children between 8 and 16 years. Together with some friends from my stamp club, three times a year we organize a well-visited stamp fair, where we have a stamp auction, a tombola and a small stamp exhibition. Stamp dealers are invited to participate and to contribute to the success of this region-wide event. My other hobbies include playing guitar and going out for dancing (with my wife). |
