We're drawn to this Wall of black granite
To find and touch a friends name.
Each of the names represent a family
Whose life will never again be the same.
They were taken away at a very young age,
When most were still quite naive.
Many had just finished highschool,
When they received their papers to leave.
They were robbed of the normal life
A young person is expected to live.
Not only that, they were never able
To offer what they had to give.
Their future on this earth ended
When they were abruptly taken away.
But they live on in a much better place
Where we'll all be together some day.
Until that day comes along though
We must remember each and all
Whose names are engraved forever
Upon this black granite Wall.
