Pat served with the 4th Infantry Division (C 1/12)...from early June,
1968. Then, nearly one year later, just before he was to return home to complete
his education, "Pat" was killed defending his platoon in an ambush in the
Central Highlands. Ironically, it was the week of Memorial Day and his photo
appeared in the June issue of Life Magazine that year along with the 243
others who perished that week.
Let this serve as our profound appreciation of the lives of those who died,
those who served and those who continue to suffer the results of conflict
worldwide. More importantly, let this be our realization that it is OUR
responsibility to use these lives as reminders of our own part in the maintenance
of world peace.....
