We had such a special time with Barry and Phyllis in Athens.  On Saturday we walked around much of the historic district of Athens enjoying many of its sites.  We visited Athens National Archeological Museum containing ancient Greek works of art dating from the 25th century BC to the 4th century AD.  This museum housed some of the finest pieces of Mycenaean antiquities; especially noteworthy were the Mycenaean gold artifacts.  On Sunday we visited the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Acropolis.  In the evening we enjoyed an excellent performance of Greek folk dancing exhibiting traditional dances, costumes, and instruments from various parts of Greece.  The Greek men dancers displayed amazing gymnastic ability.
