Reviews
Having seen The Titfield Thunderbolt on a few occasions I did feel that it was time I wrote a review.

I just loved Phil in this show and thought that he was just so goof at comedy.

A very clever set and use of props to show the motion of the train and great performances from the rest of the cast especially Paul Leonard and Loveday Smith.

Back to Phil, I really wasnt sure how good he would be at comedy, having not seen him do an all out comedy before but he does have really great comic timing and its something that he is really good at.

Hes really busy during the show playing five different characters with two seen regularly and the characters range from the young to an old man and at one point even playing a woman.

Its as Mrs Bottomley that Phil is his funniest, hes only on stage as this character for a couple of minutes but he is fantastic and he looked like he was having a blast at this point.

Another funny character is Mr Ruddock, again not on stage for long.  Mr Ruddock was the bumbling official who was meant to be in charge but I think the reality is that he wasnt.

I think the reason why the two characters I have mentioned worked so well is the appearances were short and snappy but thats not to say that the other characters didnt work or werent funny as they were.  The other characters were Sergeant Wilson, Harry Crump and Dan Taylor Dan being the old man who was, I suppose, in his 60s and Phil was convincing as he had the old mans walk and mannerisms down really well.

Its just a pity that the show didnt tour for longer so more people could have seen it as it was an inventive production.

Well done to all involved.
