Well what can I say about Phil in Keep on Running apart from he is just totally amazing.  He must be giving the performance of his life in this show as he is that good.

Although I am a huge fan of Phils I was a bit dubious about him taking on the leading role in the show as I wasnt sure that he could carry the whole show but he doesnt let anyone down.

He gives a strong, well rounded performance as the intellectual art student Don.  Don doesnt want to work at the Ford Car Factory like his best mate Bob and feels that there has to be more to life.

As Don, Phil gets to sing some well known and some not so well known songs from the sixties, my favourites have to be the very melodic Dear Diary, the first act closer and title of the show Keep on Running and the truly wonderful Nights in White Satin.

Phil provides some of the funny moments in the show, including a scene at the bus stop where he tries to get his girlfriend Michelle to go further than kissing although she tells him no.  You get to see him in just a pair of underpants, so he shows his body for a couple of minutes.  There are also sensitive moments at Dons mums funeral and at the hospital where Kathy asks him to end her life as she is paralysed.

During the show Phil plats the acoustic guitar, flute and keyboards and he also plays electric guitar during the encore.  Id never seen Phil play the keyboards before so it was a bit of shock to see him doing it.

A fantastic performance from Phil and I just wish that the show hadnt had to end but I look forward to whatever he does in the future.
