Romeo and Juliet is called the greatest ever love story and is one of Shakespeares most well known plays but until Monday night at Hornchurch Id never seen it.

I went not knowing what to expect and had only booked my ticket on the strength of Philip Reed being in the show as I always try to catch every show he does.

Imagine my surprise when during the show there were several lines I recognised from Return to the Forbidden Planet.  Some of the lines Romeo, in particular, spoke sounded very familiar as they were the lines Philip used to say as Cookie.

Philip in the show plays the roles of Paris and Bathazar although no reference is made to him as Bathazar its obvious though that it is right at the start of the show that he is playing the part as he is wearing an ordinary suit and later on when he is Paris he is wearing Military uniform.

Philip gives a great performance with his sword fighting and the emotion when he finds Juliet dead.  I just wish that hes been on stage a bit more as there are long periods when he is on.

At the end of the day though he is brilliant and I have booked to see the show again on the strength of his performance on Monday night.
