I was over the moon when I read that Phil Reed was going to be in A Midsummer Nights Dream at Hornchurch playing the part of Lysander.  I booked my tickets straight away and went out and bought a copy of the play as I had no idea what it was about.

After Id read it I still wasnt clear as to the story and I wasnt sure whether I would enjoy it but I knew that Phil was playing one of the major characters.

When I went into the auditorium I saw that the set was blue with fluffy white clouds on it the show started and I couldnt spot Phil until the line Stand Forth Lysander was spoken and Phil strode forward I was shocked that hes grown a beard.

Soon the play was in fill flow and Phil was just brilliant, playing Lysander so in love with Hermia.

During the show he gets to fight off Hermia, throe himself down a slide and many other things he also plays the flute during the show.

I must mention Matt Devitt in this review as he was just brilliant as Bottom and had everyone crying with laughter with some of the things he did and said.

This is a very different show to Planet and its great to see Phil appearing at Hornchurch again, A Midsummer Nights Dream has given him a chance to show what a great actor he is lets hope for more in the future.
