This musical celebrates the lives of a group of unlikely friends who work on Highway 57 between Frog Level and Smyrna.
On one side of the highway is a gas station run by the Pump Boys, four laid back men who provide service with a smile although they never actually do any work. On the other side is the Double Cupp Diner run by the Cupp sisters who work hard and are always serving up pie from the menu.
There are 21 songs in the show and this leaves very little time for any story and this is the only downside, no story and as such I don�t think that it could be called a musical. But all 21 songs give the cast of actor/musicians a chance to shine both vocally and musically.
There are number of highlights such as Mona, the toe-tapping Be Good or Be Gone, Highway 57 and Serve Yourself.
All the cast are incredibly talented and it was wonderful to see them swapping between instruments and playing a large number, including guitars, drums, double bass and the trumpet/
There seemed a party atmosphere on stage and this does extend into the audience and the cast encouraged the audience to clap along but a lot of the time the audience didn�t respond.
There are some funny and great moments so head along to the Queen�s for a great night out.
