Why the need for
the site
This site serves as
a venue for a list of Philippine Institutions that house photographs from
the 19th to the early 20th century and which are available to scholars,
researchers, and students.
This provides an opportunity
for the study of the social and cultural aspects of a historical period.
Families and individuals
who have personal collections are invited to include their names in the
site with a short description of their photographs. They are also invited
to either donate or have their photographs scanned for posterity.
