PAPER 1
Socrates: Arrogant Man or Intellectual Reformer
From what we read in the Apology and the Euthyphro, as well as what we have discussed in class, argue for one of the following:

        (1)        Socrates was just an arrogant person who wasn't really interested in
finding answers to his questions, like he claimed.  He was just out to put
people down or show them up.

        (2)         Socrates wasn't arrogant at all.  Maybe he had a bit of a tone at times
but he was genuinely concerned with finding answers to his questions.
He wanted those he questioned to understand that they didn't know what
they were talking about so that they could trully learn.  After all, the first
step to learning is admitting that you don't know.

This paper should be roughly 2 pages long, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, 1 inch
margins...

Remember:    Use quotations and connections we made in class to help illustrate
your points.  Always site the location of quotations within the text.
This is your own opinion but you need to make sure you support
                         your conclusions.
