This is Phil filling up a small jar with Atlantic water from Halifax harbour (to be carried across the country)
We didn't always have great luck with roads. This one in New Brunswick, north of Sackville, started out fine but turned into 15km of this! We even had to portage the bikes over a few 'ponds'.
We were fotrunate to have one (and only one) person join us on the ride. This is Kim Bowerman, who escorted us for 50km out of Lively (Sudbury), Ontario. (She's planning a trip around Nova Scotia in August, 2003. Good luck Kim!)
David cycling along beautiful Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario
Pooh Bear came from White River, ON. And we saw him!!!
If you look closely, you can see David's behind in this one. Of more interest, of course, is the vastness of Lake Superior and the beauty of its surroundings. You'll have to go to get a real idea!
Terry Fox monument, outside Thunder Bay. Terry was, of course, an inspiration to all Canadians back in 1980 in his Marathon of Hope, which ended near here.
Is there anything better than sweet relief? David doesn't think so
