| March 25, 2002 Hello all, So what's happened in the last 2 weeks? Well, the weather took a great turn and it has been sunny and over 20 degrees for the last week or so, which has meant beautiful bike rides, sitting on the beach yesterday with only my shorts on, and smiling faces in the classroom (especially mine!). I've also enjoyed the fact that my laundry dries in 4 hours and not 4 days, as it does when I have to hang it inside in the cool, humid weather. Last weekend I went to a Chinese restaurant and it happened to be Karaoke night. A half-drunk guy was singing (sometimes well) all sorts of songs, English and Portuguese. He was trying to get the crowd involved, and when he asked where we (me an my roommate) were from, she said we were from Russia. Well, it was an interesting dinner. We got out of there before it got worse! Got some wonderful news last week that my girlfriend is coming to visit me for a week next month, so that's something to look forward to. She arrives just after my bike trip (hope I haven't died from exhaustion already!) This week is the start of Easter holidays here - the kids get 2 weeks off school, but at our school it's only 3 days! I'm not sure why we have classes because a lot of the students have a habit of not coming when they're 'on holiday'. We just end up playing in a lot of the classes, which is OK, I suppose.
